Such a powerful question and a beautiful way to get present. I’ve found that when I witness without judgement I learn so much about myself and connect deeply to my intuition. Stunning photo!
The timing of this post and the question you raise is near perfection for me. Though my worries are different than yours, the net result in my body & mind is similar. Finding a way to quiet the spinning is challenging. Thanks for sharing your intimate writing and this technique. Today I’m reminded that nature heals.
Enjoyed your thought process. When I walk along I many times i try to find something new each day, no matter how small. Today it was a ladybug on a willow leaf, and the buds on the thimbleberries.
The art of noticing is a theme that keeps popping up for me ever since going through The Artist's Way earlier this year. It's been a regular prompt in my journal and something my dog is very good at on our walks and old man sits.
Brian, thanks so much for your thoughtful response. You said "lifeline", and I would agree, it feels just like that! I'm always surprised at how much better I feel just by being in nature, even without the prompt, but it sure slows down that spiral more quickly.

Thank you!
What a great question and way of dealing with anxiety, very grounding. Thank you for sharing that with us ❤️

Hi there Rick! I'd love to chat more when we next cross paths about other things that you're finding give you a doorway into nature and presence. :)

I love noticing the small things too! Thank you for sharing, I love picturing the ladybug and the thimbleberries.
A lovely question with well written answers
Thanks Rick!
It was the rocks in the picture that got me here.
I love rocks, especially granite.
As to your grounding question, it's a good one. I shall try it.
Thank you for this

I love the Artist's Way! I definitely need to get back to a morning pages habit.
"What am I noticing?" is a perfect question to ask in stressful times and I appreciate your sharing this. I will be sure to use it.
I'm so glad to hear it Mary Ann, thanks for the note.
